Sorry to anyone that showed up Thursday night.  I was misinformed.  I got a nice walk out of it though.  My shoes are definitely not water proof.

Decade (Advance 2010)

For me Sector-Y has a big place in my heart.  When I got back into yoyoing in 2004 and had finally mastered double or nothing, I found my self at Sector-Y … DAILY.  I printed out Kamikaze, Spirit Bomb, Cold Fusion, Superman … and would spend nights trying to master those tricks.  I’d spend countless hours watching and re-watching clip videos.  Amazingness!!  In short, Sector-Y changed my life and now it is coming back!!

Gabriel Lozano of Sector-Y just put together an amazing video that you should definitely check out.

Decade (Advance 2010) from Gabriel Lozano on Vimeo.

Here’s what he has to say about it:

The original Sector Y website launched October 15th, 1999. It’s been a full decade since then. Over the past 10 years, yoyoing has evolved farther than anyone could have imagined. Contained inside every modern combo or trick are traces of the tricks from yesteryear. We have come a long way in the past decade. It’s time to sit back and reflect over the past 10 years, and think about what the next 10 years holds for us.

This video is dedicated to all players who have helped advance this hobby in one way or another.

I’m really excited for what’s next and it all starts with each of you!!

In the next month there is going to be a plethora of contests in Europe!!

Italian Nationals - November 7-8th

Czech Nationals - November 14th

2nd Paris Contest - November 27th

UK SRC in Gloucester - December 5th

The exciting part is that at every contest there is going to be someone from Team CLYW there!!!  Jensen will be attending each contest except for SRC; he’ll be competing at Czech Nats and will either be doing demos or participating as a judge for the rest.  Krisztian will be at Czech Nationals, Paris Contest and SRC.  Hadrien will be at Czech Nationals, Paris contest (of course) and SRC.  Thanks to the IYYA, CYA, and FYYA for helping to make this a possibility.

National Lampoon’s European Vacation is probably one of my favourite movies.  So it is quite hard for me to not be able to go for a tour around Europe and get into trouble like Chevy Chase, while cheering everyone on.  I guess I will just have to live vicariously through the team!!  I am so excited for you guys!!

I’ll be sure to post updates on the blog as info / photos / videos come in.

Pip pip.

The very first anodized Bear vs Man I sent to Boyd in 2007 had artwork on it that I drew similar to this with a sharpie.  With this last run of BvMs we decided to do a small run of 12 pink yoyos and duplicate these little Bear and Man figures with laser engraving.

These are up for sale now, and only available at our store!!

Right before US Nationals Sebastian was featured in a news article at his college, the College of William and Mary.  It’s a really great bio and goes into how Sebastian got into return tops, his local celebrity status and the beginnings of the Bassalope.  There is a short clip video and some really great photos as well.

Here it is: William and Mary News Article

Also if you haven’t seen Sebastian’s US Nationals 3rd place freestyle. You’ve GOT to check it out!!!! Soooooo GOOD!!!

To celebrate where the Bassalope came from we decided to do a run of Bassalopes with the original artwork that Justin Weber did that inspired the name Bassalope, for Mr. Sebastian “Sea-Bass” Brock.

These yoyos will be available at YoYoExpert and our store for $90each, but only the ice blue ones will be available at YoYoExpert.  The first launch will be at our store starting tonight at 11pm mountain standard time.

Unfortuantely there is a small issue with the Bassalopes we received with this run.  Some of you may have noticed that there was a bit of a price drop.  It’s due to a small tiny dent that was created by the machining process.  It does not affect play and you really have to look hard to find them.  We figured that this definitely deserves a price break though.  See circled area in the photo below.   The mark is in the same place on each half, with only one per half.
