Video Contest - Win a Bassalope!!
To celebrate the new batch of Bassalopes we are having a video contest where you can have the opportunity of winning your very own Bassalope!!
I just had a talk with Sebastian and we came up with some ground rules:
1) One trick/combo
2) Your video must be done in one take (no editing different tricks together)
3) Max video time is 30 seconds
4) Mulitple entries are okay
5) Contest ends September 30th
6) You can use whatever yoyo you want
Send a youtube or vimeo link of your yoyo trick video to cariboulodgecontest@hotmail.com also please include your name and address so we can get a hold of you and send you your prize at the end.

Wow! This is great! One question though, are we required to use CLYW yoyos? From past contests, I’d assume not, but it’s better to clarify.

We will be judging these videos on the trick themselves…but if they are not shot well and you can’t follow the string/yoyo then I can’t imagine that you’d do very well, because we won’t really know what exactly is going on. So try to shoot your videos clear.

When it says “Your video must be done in one take (no editing different tricks together,” does that mean we have to land it perfectly on camera the first time? Or, can we record the trick a few times and send you the one that we pulled off the best as long as we don’t string together mutliple recordings of the trick?

Kyle, yup just send in your trick when it’s ready. Multiple takes are okay. Just it has to be landed clean if you want to win. No editing different tricks together.

I think he’s trying to say that he can’t make his yoyo sleep for more then 30 seconds, and he wants to know if he can throw a second time to finish the trick.

ohhhhhhhhhhh…you don’t have to make a 30 second trick. Your trick can be shorter. It’s just your trick can’t be longer then 30 seconds. That’s the maximum. If your yoyo can’t spin that long then do a regen. No binds back to the hand allowed.

Oh dear, I’m not sure if I got the criteria correct. What I read what that we aren’t allowed to edit different tricks together ie something like a collage, but what I did was to have the same trick filmed from different angles, and then pieced them together, with different timings of the trick having different angles, because it can’t be seen from some angles at some timings. Will this be a problem? Or am I supposed to have the whole trick in one shot? Thanks Chris!
